New Delhi, 13 August (H.S.): Union Minister JP Nadda on Thursday described the Tiranga Yatra and Tiranga campaign as nationwide initiatives driven by public participation, urging citizens to turn the campaign into a broad-based people’s movement.

Nadda said the Tiranga Yatra and Tiranga campaign, which began on August 9, will continue until August 15. As part of the initiative, Tiranga Yatras are being organised across cities and villages, with people participating in the campaign with enthusiasm.

Nadda recalled that after India completed 75 years of Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called in 2022 for the Tiranga campaign to become a people’s movement rather than remain merely a government programme. Following the appeal, the national flag was hoisted at crores of households across the country, with citizens participating enthusiastically in the initiative.

The Union Minister said he also hoisted the Tricolour at his residence along with his family on Thursday. Describing the occasion as a matter of pride and privilege, Nadda said the national flag represents India’s unity, dignity and spirit of patriotism.

Nadda stressed that a strong sense of patriotism among citizens is essential for building a self-reliant and developed India. He urged people to participate in the Tiranga campaign and strengthen their collective resolve towards the country’s development.

According to Nadda, India can achieve its goal of becoming a self-reliant and developed nation through a strong spirit of patriotism, public participation and collective efforts.
