Guwahati, 26 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday congratulated Assam's first woman to successfully scale Mount Everest, Srirupamoni Garh and described her achievement as a matter of immense pride for the state.

In a post on social media, the Chief Minister said he had the opportunity to meet Srirupamoni Garh at Lok Sewa Bhawan on Saturday. He praised her for taking the strength and determination of Assam's women to the highest peak in the world.

Extending his heartfelt congratulations, Sarma said her remarkable feat has brought great honour to Assam and wished her continued success in bringing more laurels to both the state and the nation in the years ahead.-----------
