Alappuzha, 12 July (H.S.)Former Kerala Minister G. Sudhakaran MLA who had come out of the CPM and won the 2026 assembly elections as an Independent backed by the UDF , on Sunday strongly hit back at the party's Alappuzha district secretary R. Naser over his warning that continued criticism of the party could lead to law-and-order problems.
Responding to Naser's remarks, Sudhakaran said it was the CPI(M), not him, that had already been handled by the people. He also accused the district secretary of being politically isolated and lacking the ability to reconnect the party with the public.
Naser is a person who has become isolated from the people. He has neither the intellectual ability nor the political strength to regain public support. I do not know what prompted him to make such statements, Sudhakaran told reporters.
Referring to Naser's assertion that people will handle him if he continued attacking the party, Sudhakaran said, Let them handle me. The people have already handled the CPI(M). By that I mean politically, not physically. If anyone resorts to violence, the police will arrest them.
He further warned that if anyone attempted to physically attack or intimidate him, Naser would have to bear responsibility for it. He has publicly said that I will be handled. If anyone raises a hand against me, he will be accountable because a person who incites such action is equally responsible, Sudhakaran said.
The former minister also accused the CPI(M) leadership of repeatedly committing political blunders.
Sudhakaran's remarks came hours after Naser warned that the veteran leader should stop what he described as repeated public attacks and insults against the party. Naser had said political differences should not be settled through personal attacks and cautioned that the party cadre could react if the criticism continued.
Patience has its limits. If he continues to attack the party, there will be a response. People will deal with him, Naser had said, adding that such a situation could eventually lead to law-and-order issues if tensions escalated.
