Kolkata, 01 July (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday paid rich tributes to former Chief Minister and legendary physician Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy on the occasion of his birth anniversary and death anniversary, observed as National Doctors' Day across India. He said Dr Roy's twin legacy of selfless public service and excellence in the field of medicine continues to inspire generations.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister extended National Doctors' Day greetings to doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals across West Bengal and the country, expressing profound gratitude for their unwavering dedication to public health.

Adhikari said the medical fraternity's commitment, compassion and daily sacrifices form the foundation of a healthy and resilient society. Even in the most challenging circumstances, he said, doctors, nurses and healthcare workers continue to serve as frontline warriors, healers and a beacon of hope for countless people.

Reaffirming the state's commitment to the healthcare sector, the Chief Minister said the West Bengal government stands firmly with the medical community and remains dedicated to strengthening the state's healthcare infrastructure. He assured that the government would continue to support healthcare professionals at every level, just as they remain committed to serving the people every day.
