Kochi, 07 June (H.S.): Ayurvod, a premium herbal liquor brand founded by Malayali entrepreneur Mithun Mohan, has won a prestigious Gold Medal at the 'World Liqueur Awards '2026, one of the most respected international competitions in the global spirits industry.

The award marks another major milestone for the brand, which combines India’s ancient Ayurvedic heritage with modern European distillation technology. Within months of its launch, Ayurvod has emerged as a notable player in the international botanical liqueur market, earning recognition for its unique blend of traditional Indian ingredients and contemporary craftsmanship.

The latest accolade follows the brand’s earlier success at the Warsaw Spirits Competition 2026, where it also secured a Gold Medal. Winning two major international awards in quick succession is considered a rare achievement in the highly competitive global liquor industry.

Ayurvod is inspired by traditional Ayurvedic formulations and is crafted using nearly 75 medicinal herbs, botanicals, and aromatic spices. With an alcohol content of 40 percent ABV, the premium herbal liqueur seeks to introduce the richness of India’s medicinal and culinary traditions to global consumers.

The brand was created by Mithun Mohan, an entrepreneur from the historic port town of Muziris (Kodungallur) in Kerala. He described the international recognition as a tribute not merely to the product but to India’s ancient knowledge systems and cultural heritage.

“This recognition is an honour for our land’s timeless traditions and wisdom. While I am delighted by this achievement, I see it more as a victory for our heritage than as a personal accomplishment,” Mohan said.

He noted that many globally renowned liquor brands have long relied on spices and medicinal ingredients sourced from India. However, Ayurvod represents an effort to create a world-class international brand rooted in Indian traditions, using indigenous knowledge alongside advanced European production techniques.

According to Mohan, the brand was developed to fill a gap in the global market, where numerous German and Italian botanical liqueurs are available but few products authentically showcase India’s Ayurvedic heritage.

With its twin international gold medals, Ayurvod has demonstrated that the legacy of ancient Muziris and India’s rich botanical traditions can compete with some of the finest premium spirits brands in the world.
