Sarnaik has announced making available State Transport buses at concessional

rate for marriage ceremony in a farmers’ family in rural areas. The proposal is

under consideration, he added. The final decision will be taken soon. At the

same time illegal transport of human beings in goods transport vehicles will

face stern action.

Sarnaik was replying to a call attention motion

moved by Sunil Shinde (UBT) relating to an accident on Mumbai=Ahmedabad Highway

in which many members of a marriage party were killed. The vehicle was carrying

more passengers than its capacity. Sinde raised the issue of security of

people, particularly villages.

Sarnaik said that transport of people om transport

vehicles will be curbed and State Passenger Buses will be made available at

concessional rates.
