
Thane, 27 June (HS): Maharashtra Examination Council
has cancelled the Teachers Eligibility Test (MAHA-TET) scheduled for June 28 as
leakage of paper has been reported In Thane. Fresh dates will be announced by
the Council later on its official portal.
The paper leakage in various competitive examination
has not stopped posing serious problems for the examination conducting authorities
in the country. Earlier 13 people were arrested in NETT-UG paper leage issue of
which nine were from Maharashtra. The MAH-TET was to be conducted at 1,028
centres for the 4,28,122 applicants, with maximum 45,562 from Pune.
Based on intelligence information the Council
members verified the leaked question paper in Bhiwandi region on Saturday, and
found many questions similar to those appearing for the test to be conducted on
June 28.
According to police may suspects have been taken
into custody for enquiry, including involvement of coaching classes and staff
of Education Department. The kingpin of the racket is likely to come to the
fore soon.
