Guwahati, 27 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday announced that the Sribhumi Police achieved a major breakthrough in the state's ongoing drive against narcotics by seizing a large consignment of Yaba tablets valued at approximately ₹2.4 crore.

Sharing the development on social media, the Chief Minister said the operation was carried out in the early hours of Saturday based on specific intelligence inputs. Acting swiftly, the police intercepted the consignment and arrested one person allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.

The successful operation marks another significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region and reinforces the state government's sustained Assam Against Drugs campaign. Police said intelligence-driven operations and constant vigilance remain central to efforts aimed at dismantling organized narcotics syndicates across Assam.
