Guwahati, 27 June (HS): Assam Finance and Forest Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah on Saturday said that the budget proposals of eight key departments for the financial year 2026-27 were reviewed under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday.

The review meeting, held at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Dispur, focused on ensuring the optimum utilisation of financial resources while preparing a practical and development-oriented state budget. The discussions aimed at strengthening public service delivery and accelerating the state's overall development.

Minister Mallabaruah stated that the government's objective is to formulate a realistic budget that maximises the effective use of available funds, enabling the benefits of development to reach every citizen of Assam through improved public services.-----------
