Kamrup (Assam), 25 June (HS): Panic gripped Rangia town after a shocking snatching incident was reported from the Brick Field Colony area on Thursday morning. Two unidentified miscreants allegedly robbed a woman of her gold chain after threatening her with a pistol.

The victim, identified as Pakhila Kalita, was on her morning walk when the incident took place. According to reports, the assailants approached her on a motorcycle and intercepted her on the road.

The miscreants allegedly brandished a pistol to intimidate the woman before forcibly snatching the gold chain from her neck. After carrying out the robbery, the duo fled the scene on their motorcycle.

The incident has triggered concern among local residents, as cases of chain-snatching have resurfaced in the town. Police have launched an investigation and are examining available leads to identify and apprehend the accused. Further details are awaited.----------
