Bhubaneswar, 25 June (H.S.): The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has announced the distribution of free school bags to students studying from Sishu Vatika to Class III in government schools across the state.
In a communication issued to all District Education Officers-cum-District Project Coordinators (DEO-cum-DPCs), the State Project Director of OSEPA informed that the school bags will be supplied through the Odisha Small Industries Corporation (OSIC) and delivered to designated block points for further distribution to schools.
The initiative will benefit students enrolled in government schools functioning under the School and Mass Education (S&ME) Department as well as the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development (SSD) Department.
To cater to different age groups, OSEPA has arranged two categories of school bags. Size-I bags will be distributed to students from Sishu Vatika to Class I, while Size-II bags are earmarked for students of Classes II and III.
OSEPA has also shared block-wise indents with district authorities and directed them to ensure the smooth receipt of the materials as per the approved allocation. The officials have been instructed to expedite distribution so that the bags reach eligible students at the earliest.
The authority further stated that any discrepancy detected during the receipt of the materials should be immediately reported to the OSEPA headquarters for prompt resolution and necessary action.
All DEOs are requested to ensure receipt of the materials as per the approved indent and facilitate timely distribution to schools for onward distribution among eligible students. Any discrepancy noticed during receipt may be brought to the notice of this office immediately for necessary compliance, the letter stated.
