
Bhubaneswar, 22 June (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound grief over the ammonia gas leak incident that occurred in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said he was deeply saddened by the tragic incident. He conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families of the workers who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured Odia workers affected by the accident.
The Odisha Government is maintaining continuous communication with the Tamil Nadu administration to ensure that all necessary assistance is provided to the affected workers.
Acting on the Chief Minister’s directions, Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg held discussions with her counterpart in Tamil Nadu regarding the medical treatment and welfare of the injured Odia workers. The talks focused on ensuring timely healthcare support and the provision of all necessary assistance to those impacted by the incident.
To facilitate coordination on the ground and extend support to the affected workers and their families, the Odisha Government has deputed three senior officials to visit Tiruvallur immediately. The officials will work closely with the local administration to assess the situation, monitor relief measures, and ensure that the affected workers receive all required support.
The Odisha Government has reiterated its commitment to standing by the affected workers and their families during this difficult time and will continue to coordinate with the Tamil Nadu authorities to provide all possible assistance.
