Prayagraj, 21 June (HS): In a vibrant demonstration of
health, discipline and harmony, Ordnance Depot, Fort, Prayagraj, conducted a
central International Yoga Day celebration under the aegis of Purva UP and MP
Sub Area, Prayagraj New Cantt, at the historic and sacred grounds of ‘Akshay
Vat’ Vatika.
The proceedings commenced with the live-telecast address of
the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, which provided a powerful impetus
for all present. Following this, the practice was conducted with remarkable
brilliance and expertise by Mrs. Archana Sohal, Chairperson Family Welfare.
Adopting this year’s global theme, Yoga for Healthy Aging, the
event brought together 350 participants, including army personnel and their
families, to explore how ancient yogic traditions serve as a vital, lifelong
practice for maintaining physical vitality, mobility and mental clarity.
Under Archana's expert guidance, attendees engaged in a comprehensive
experience covering essential breathing techniques and physical postures
specifically curated to promote long-term well-being and resilience.
The event not only honored the vision of the Honourable
Prime Minister to promote yoga as a universal tool for holistic health but also
underscored the unwavering commitment of the military community to foster
wellness and balance at every stage of life. By hosting the celebration at a
site of profound cultural significance, the Ordnance Depot successfully
inspired all present to integrate these healthy habits into their daily
routines, viewing yoga as a lifelong commitment to longevity and sustained
physical fitness.
