
Prayagraj, 21 June (HS): In observance of 12th International
Yoga Day, a yoga session was organized by Air Force Station Bamrauli on Sunday.
Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Bamrauli led the event which began
with an introductory talk on origin of yoga, benefits of Yoga and meditation
for a healthy lifestyle. Common Yoga Protocol with yogic warm up exercises in
sitting and standing positions as part of Sukshma Yoga and various other yogic
aasans like Tadasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Trikonasana, Vajrasana, Ardha
Ustrasana, Sasakasana, Makarasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Setubandhasana,
Pavana Muktasana, Anulom- Vilom, Pranayama, Bhramari Pranayama etc were
performed. Benefits of aasanas, Meditation posture and Kriya along with timing
and its benefits were also explained.
The event culminated with Sankalpa and Prayer. The 45
minutes of Yoga demonstration and practice was participated by more than 500
personnel comprising air warriors, Non-Combatants (Enrolled), Defence Security
Corps personnel, Civilians and families promoting yoga as an ancient discipline
for pursuing personal wellbeing and inner peace.
