
Prayagraj, 21 June (HS): In consonance with the national
vision of promoting health, wellness and holistic living through Yoga, NCC
Group Headquarters, Prayagraj celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great
enthusiasm and fervour at iconic and historically significant locations across
the region.
As part of the celebrations, Yoga sessions were conducted
simultaneously at the following prominent venues:
Arail Ghat, Prayagraj – 350 Cadets
Gupteshwar Ghat, Ayodhya – 200 Cadets
Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, Prayagraj – 125 Cadets
The event was organized in accordance with the International
Yoga Day theme and aimed at spreading awareness regarding the immense physical,
mental and spiritual benefits of Yoga among the youth.
At Arail Ghat, situated near the sacred confluence of the Ganga,
Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati, 350 NCC cadets performed the Common Yoga
Protocol amidst a serene and inspiring environment. The cadets demonstrated
various Yogasanas, breathing exercises and meditation techniques, highlighting
the importance of incorporating Yoga into daily life.
Simultaneously, 200 NCC cadets participated enthusiastically
at Gupteshwar Ghat, Ayodhya, a location
of immense religious and cultural significance. The event witnessed disciplined
participation by cadets who showcased their commitment towards physical fitness
and mental well-being through synchronized Yoga practices.
At the historic Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, Prayagraj, 125
NCC cadets gathered to perform Yoga amidst one of India's most revered
landmarks associated with the freedom struggle. The venue provided a fitting
backdrop to inspire the youth towards a healthy, disciplined and purposeful
lifestyle.
In addition to these flagship events, approximately 3,600
NCC Cadets from various NCC units under NCC Group Headquarters, Prayagraj
participated simultaneously in International Yoga Day celebrations organized at
schools, colleges and educational institutions across the Group area. Cadets
performed the Common Yoga Protocol and conducted awareness activities to
promote the message of healthy living, physical fitness and mental well-being
among students and the local community.
The synchronized participation of more than 4,200 NCC Cadets
across multiple locations reflected the commitment of NCC towards fostering a
culture of fitness, discipline and holistic development amongst the youth. The
initiative also served as a significant outreach effort in spreading awareness
about Yoga as a powerful tool for preventive healthcare, stress management and
overall well-being.
The celebrations were conducted under the supervision of NCC
Officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) and Permanent Instructor Staff. Special
emphasis was laid on the message of harmony between mind and body,
environmental consciousness and the role of Yoga in fostering resilience and
inner strength among the youth. During the programme, cadets reaffirmed their
commitment to adopting Yoga as a way of life and pledged to act as ambassadors
of health, fitness and positive living within their institutions and
communities.
The successful conduct of International Yoga Day activities
at iconic heritage locations and educational institutions across the region
reflects the continued commitment of NCC Group Headquarters, Prayagraj towards
nation-building, youth empowerment and promotion of India's rich cultural
heritage and timeless Yoga traditions.
