Nagpur, 10 June
(HS): The schools in the Vidarbha Region
of Maharashtra will reopen on June 22. The schools in other areas of the state
are scheduled to open on June 15.
The Education
Department issues a notification on June 9 and informed the schools concerned.
The decision came following a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) filed at the
Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court. The court had sought reply from the
State Government to be filed by June 9.
The petitioner
had stated that the climate is hot and humid in the Vidarbha Region during June.
The petitioner had pleaded deferring the date of school, as many students in
the past have fell unconscious during the period due to high temperature.
The classes from
June 22 to 30 however, will be conducted in the morning between 7 am and 11.45
am.
The Vidarbha
region is still facing temperature above 40 degree Celsius.
