
New Delhi, 10 June (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has set the record as India’s longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister, has received congratulatory messages and best wishes from leaders across the world.
Following his swearing-in as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had chosen Bhutan for his first foreign visit. Congratulating Prime Minister Modi on his historic achievement, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay described him as a friend, brother, and mentor.
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake congratulated Prime Minister Modi and reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two countries. The Sri Lankan High Commission in India also shared President Dissanayake’s message, reaffirming the close and enduring partnership between India and Sri Lanka.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described Prime Minister Modi’s achievement as a testament to years of dedicated public service and leadership. He said the milestone reflected Modi’s sustained commitment to India’s development, prosperity, and strengthening of the nation’s global standing. Emphasizing the value of the close and enduring friendship between the two countries, Ibrahim expressed hope for continued cooperation to deepen bilateral ties and expand opportunities for the people of both nations. He also wished Prime Minister Modi continued success and the people of India lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu highlighted the confidence and trust repeatedly placed in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership by the people of India over three consecutive terms. President Tinubu underscored Modi’s contribution to strengthening India-Nigeria relations and wished him continued good health, wisdom, and success. He described Prime Minister Modi not only as a great friend of Nigeria but also as a personal friend and trusted partner.
Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu congratulated Prime Minister Modi and expressed his country’s desire to further strengthen cooperation with India based on mutual respect, sovereign equality, and shared interests.
Kenyan President William Ruto said the achievement reflected the trust and confidence the people of India have placed in Modi’s leadership. He also reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to deepening cooperation with India for the mutual benefit of both nations.
President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea described Prime Minister Modi’s role in India’s development and progress as significant and expressed confidence in further advancing the Korea-India Special Strategic Partnership.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also congratulated Prime Minister Modi. Recalling their recent meeting in Rome, she reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the Special Strategic Partnership between India and Italy for the benefit of both countries and their people.
