Guwahati, 22 May (HS): After a long wait, the newly constructed Dr. Syama Prasad Mukharji Flyover connecting Cycle Factory and Lalganesh in Guwahati was opened to the public on Friday evening. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma formally inaugurated the flyover at around 6 pm.
According to official information, the flyover has been constructed by the Public Works Department under the State Own Priority Development Fund for the year 2023-24. Built at an estimated cost of around ₹376 crore, the infrastructure project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the city.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Guwahati Lok Sabha MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi and MLA Vijay Kumar Gupta, along with several officials and local residents.---------
