Lucknow,
17 May (HS): In a state-level programme chaired by Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath held at Lok Bhavan auditorium on Sunday, the honorarium of 24,717
part-time instructors working under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan under the Basic
Education Department was increased from Rs 9,000 to Rs 17,000 per month,
implementing an increase in the honorarium. On this occasion, 14 selected
instructors were honoured by distributing symbolic cheques. Deputy Chief
Minister Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Minister Manoj Pandey and Minister of State
for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh, along with other public
representatives and senior officials were present in the programme.
The
program also saw the release of the Holistic Report Card, designed
for students from Bal Vatika to Grade 8. It provides a comprehensive assessment
of students' academic performance as well as various dimensions of their
physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and personality development.
Addressing
the programme, Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh said that this event is
an opportunity to honour the dedication, hard work and invaluable contribution
of thousands of education warriors in nation building. He said that despite
limited resources, part-time instructors are keeping the flame of education
burning and connecting children with important subjects like sports, arts,
discipline, values and life skills, which lay the foundation of a strong
nation. He informed that currently, 9,645 instructors are working for health
and physical education and 6,192 instructors are working for work experience
education in the state, who are playing an important role in the all-round
development of students in schools.
Minister
Singh said that in the year 2022, the honorarium was increased from Rs 7,000 to
Rs 9,000, which has now been increased to Rs 17,000 per month, which is a proof
of the government's commitment. Referring to the extensive reforms in the
education sector in the state, he said that council schools have been equipped
with facilities like smart class, digital library, ICT lab and modern library,
due to which these schools have emerged as centers of innovation. Currently,
digital libraries are operating in 1,129 schools, where study material is being
made available to the students through modern technology.
Minister
Singh said that 746 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas are operating in the
state and a plan is being worked out to establish residential schools for girls
in all the remaining blocks. Furthermore, 1,64,882 children have been provided
free assistive devices, which has promoted inclusive education. To ensure
transparency in the education sector, the government has effectively
implemented the DBT system, through which benefits to students are being
transferred directly to their bank accounts. He also said that education has
been made a primary vehicle for social change and the overall development of
the state, rather than just a scheme.
