Prayagraj,

17 May (HS): An important meeting of the

Prayag Chemist Association (Pharma) held at Grand Continental Hotel on Sunday.

The organization's president, Lalu Mittal, called the proposed nationwide

one-day strike on May 20 unjustified. The one-day strike will have no

significant impact on large corporate companies in the online pharmaceutical

market, but will instead result in financial losses for local businesses.

At

a time when large corporate companies were establishing their foothold in the

country.

The

AIOCD did not fight this issue in an organized and united manner. It did not

involve other organizations or take them into confidence. Today, the roots of

these large corporate companies have spread like the roots of a banyan tree and

have established a strong hold.

Lalu

Mittal said that it is not that the Prayag Chemist Association supports online

trading. Our organization has been raising its voice against online trading

from the very beginning. We do not accept online trading from anywhere.

However, a symbolic one-day shutdown will not change the situation. Rather, the

fight against online trading is possible only through long-term and organized

efforts, and a concrete strategy will have to be adopted at the legal and

administrative levels.

Closing

shops will impact business. Employees will be burdened with payments and other

expenses, and patients may face difficulties due to lack of timely access to

essential medicines. This could harm the image of chemists among the public.

General

Secretary Ravi Sharma said that the pharmaceutical business is not just a

business, it is a charitable work related to social service and public welfare.

The medicines provided by us retailers save the lives of millions of sick

patients in emergency situations.

Ganga

Paar President Rajendra Kesarwani said that by closing the drug market, we

cannot play with the health and lives of our patients. Keeping the drug market

open smoothly is very important for public health facilities. Due to the

closure, online sales will be affected. This

will automatically increase and our credibility will decrease among the public,

our image will be tarnished among the patients.
