Guwahati, 06 April (HS): Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has filed a case in the Crime Branch against Congress leader Pawan Khera over alleged false accusations made against her.
In her statement, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma asserted that the allegations levelled against her are completely baseless and fabricated, adding that those responsible must be punished under the law. She further claimed that in the absence of any agenda against the Chief Minister, she has been deliberately targeted as a “soft target.”
The controversy stems from allegations circulated by the Congress party claiming that Riniki Bhuyan Sharma holds citizenship of three countries—UAE, Egypt and Antigua. Refuting these claims, she termed them as misinformation and part of a deliberate smear campaign.------------
