Guwahati, 06 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday counters the claim of a $100 billion investment against Riniki Bhuiyan Sharm by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi in the United States, terming them misleading and unverified.

Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said that a purported account in the name of “GauravElizabeth786” was cited to support the allegation. To counter the claim, he demonstrated how easily such accounts can be created online, stating that with a payment of just USD 199, any individual can open a similar account in the United States.

Sarma alleged that the opposition was attempting to mislead the public with fabricated digital evidence and emphasized that such claims lack authenticity. He further asserted that the demonstration was meant to expose how false narratives can be built using fake online identities.

The development has intensified the political confrontation in Assam, with both sides trading allegations ahead of the elections.----------
