Bhubaneswar, 28 April (H.S.) : On the 178th birth anniversary of 'Utkal Gourav' Madhusudan Das, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid heartfelt tributes during a special commemorative program in Kendujhar.

The event took place at the District Collector's office, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Member of Parliament Ananta Nayak, Telkoi MLA, and District Planning Committee Chairman Fakir Mohan Nayak. All dignitaries offered floral tributes at the statue of Madhubabu.

In his address, the Chief Minister hailed Madhusudan Das as the chief architect of a separate Odisha and emphasized that his ideals continue to inspire the vision of a prosperous state.

Recalling Madhubabu's deep historical and emotional ties to Kendujhar, the Chief Minister highlighted his significant role as a distinguished lawyer during the Kendujhar Praja Movement, where he advocated for justice. He expressed it as an honor to pay tribute to him on this revered land.

The Chief Minister further stated that the state government prioritizes the preservation of cultural heritage and the recognition of great personalities. He announced the development of Madhusudan Das's birthplace, Satyabhamapur, into a major tourist and inspirational destination, complete with dedicated infrastructure.

He also mentioned ongoing efforts to realize Madhubabu's vision of industrialization by promoting local artisans throughout Kendujhar and the entire state.

Highlighting recent initiatives, the Chief Minister noted that Utkal Divas was celebrated extensively this year to raise awareness about the contributions and sacrifices of leaders like Madhusudan Das among all Odias. He reiterated the government's commitment to integrating remote and underdeveloped regions into the mainstream of development.

The program saw the participation of senior administrative officials, public representatives, and a large number of local residents.
