Kolkata, 28 April (H.S.): Ahead of the second phase of polling, concerns had been rising among daily commuters regarding metro services in the city. With the focus of voting shifting to Kolkata and adjoining districts, office-goers, students, and regular passengers were eager to know whether metro timings would be altered or reduced on polling day.

Amid these concerns, Kolkata Metro Rail has clarified that services on April 29 will remain completely normal. According to metro authorities, trains on all three lines—Blue, Green, and Orange—will operate as per the regular schedule, with no changes in timing.

On the Blue Line (Noapara to Kavi Subhash/Shahid Khudiram), the first metro will depart from Noapara at 6:50 AM and from Shahid Khudiram at 6:54 AM. The last services will run at 9:45 PM from Noapara and 9:44 PM from Shahid Khudiram.

For the Green Line (Howrah Maidan to Sector V), the first train will leave Howrah Maidan at 6:45 AM and Sector V at 6:39 AM. The last metro on this line will operate at 9:55 PM from both ends.

On the Orange Line (Jai Hind Airport to Noapara), the first train will depart from Jai Hind Airport at 7:40 AM, while from Noapara towards the airport it will leave at 7:18 AM. The last metro will run at 9:00 PM from Noapara and 9:20 PM from Jai Hind Airport.

Metro authorities have assured that passengers will not face any inconvenience on polling day. Special attention will be given to crowd management and security arrangements to ensure smooth travel.

Overall, despite the busy election atmosphere, metro services will remain fully operational, providing major relief to commuters and ensuring that office work, exams, and other essential activities continue without disruption.
