Imphal, 28 April (HS): Emphasising that lasting peace is essential for Manipur’s progress, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Tuesday said the state government is actively working to restore normalcy through continuous dialogue and engagement.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while inaugurating the Ebudhou Phunal Ningthou Telheiba–Santhok Ningthou Apanba event, organised by the Lai Haraoba & Village Development Authority at Chanam Sandrok.
Referring to the recent Tronglaobi incident that claimed the lives of two children, Singh said the tragedy had deeply affected people across communities. He noted that efforts are underway to ensure free movement on highways and to bring back peace through sustained talks.
He further informed that the case has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency, assuring that those responsible will face strict legal action.
On the development front, the Chief Minister said proposals earlier submitted by the local MLA of Keirao constituency would be expedited. He also expressed his intent to revisit the area to assess the progress of ongoing projects.
During the programme, Singh felicitated five successful candidates from the constituency who cleared the Manipur Public Service Commission examination, stating that dedication and hard work can ensure success regardless of one’s background.
Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei said the Chief Minister’s visits to both hill and valley districts demonstrate the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy across the state.
Members of the LHVDA and a large number of local residents were present at the event.-----------
