Lucknow, April 28 (HS): Akhilesh
Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, alleged on Tuesday that a reported
viral video of a top Uttar Pradesh police officer deployed in the Bengal
assembly polls had soiled the Adityanath government's image. Without
identifying any officers, Yadav stated that the video proved the hollowness of
the BJP government's statements about respect for women and Naari Vandan.
In a
post on X in Hindi, Yadav stated that the 'obscene' video of a senior Uttar
Pradesh police officer, who is an observer in the ongoing Bengal elections,
that is currently circulating widely in the public domain, has severely
tarnished the image of the Uttar Pradesh government's governance and
administration.
Claiming that these persons and
officials are not an anomaly within the BJP's government, former Uttar Pradesh
chief minister stated, Today, every woman associated with the BJP feels
ashamed, because they, too, have sisters and daughters in their own
homes. Yadav related the subject to the chief minister's image, claiming
that the action taken against the officer will decide Adityanath's attitude on
the issue. As so much has come to light, the chief minister, even if unwillingly, would
be forced to start disciplinary and punitive action, Yadav said, adding that in
an attempt to conceal his'specially favored' man, he will be unable to claim
that the aforementioned video was made by AI.
The SP head stated on X that zero tolerance should be applied not just to
criminals, but also to such authorities.
