
Bhubaneswar, 26 April (H.S.): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday visited his ancestral village Nalam in the Talcher-Kaniha block of Angul district, Odisha. During the visit, he joined party workers and local residents to listen to the 133rd episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has emerged as an effective platform for public dialogue across the country, fostering positive thinking and awareness while contributing to nation-building. Referring to the Prime Minister’s message, he highlighted that the achievements of Indian scientists in the nuclear sector and the excellence of young girls in mathematics are matters of national pride.
He further noted that the Prime Minister’s appeal to promote local bamboo products as gifts would strengthen the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. Citing the teachings of Lord Buddha and the ideas of Rabindranath Tagore, he said the message inspires citizens to work towards building a strong and self-reliant India.
The Union Minister also described the Prime Minister’s call for the ‘Digital Census 2027’ as a significant step towards national progress and urged citizens to actively participate in the initiative.
During his visit, Pradhan interacted with elders and family members in the village, stating that the affection of his native soil and the blessings of elders continue to inspire him.
He also offered prayers at the village deity, Lord Nrusingha Dev, for the well-being of all. Additionally, he paid floral tribute to noted freedom fighter Pabitra Mohan Pradhan at Talcher-Kaniha. He remarked that the sacrifice and fearless leadership of the Prajamandal movement leader will remain a lasting source of inspiration for the youth.
