Bhubaneswar, 26 April (H.S.): Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of legendary photojournalist Raghu Rai, paying tribute to his immense contribution to visual storytelling in India.

In a social media post, Patnaik said he was “deeply saddened” to learn about Rai’s passing, describing him as a chronicler of India’s spirit, its people, and everyday life. He noted that Rai’s work would remain etched in the collective memory of the nation.

“Through his lens, he chronicled the spirit of India, its people and everyday life which will remain etched in our collective memory. His frames were not mere pictures, but living histories,” Patnaik stated.

He further expressed hope that Rai’s legacy would continue to inspire generations of storytellers and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and admirers.
