
South 24 Paragnas, 26 April (H.S.): West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal on Sunday expressed confidence that polling in South 24 Parganas will be conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
Agarwal visited Kakdwip to review election preparedness and held a meeting with district officials, the Superintendent of Police, and candidates from various political parties. Discussions focused on law and order, security arrangements and measures to ensure free and fair polling.
Speaking to the media, he said, “I have reviewed the election preparations and the situation is satisfactory. I appeal to all voters to exercise their franchise in a free and fair manner.” He added that voter turnout in the region is expected to be between 76 and 82 per cent and urged people to participate actively in the democratic process.
The CEO also said that cooperation has been sought from all political parties and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the polling process. He noted that CCTV cameras will be deployed at every booth and robust security arrangements have been put in place.
