
Kanpur, April 19 (HS): On Sunday, a man murdered his 11-year-old twin
daughters by slitting their throats in Trimurti Apartment in Kidwai Nagar
police station area. Police, who arrived on the information, took the accused
into custody from the spot and started questioning him and sent the bodies of
both the girls for post-mortem. Preliminary investigation has revealed a family
dispute.
A horrific incident unfolded in the Kidwai Nagar police station area, where
a father brutally murdered his two innocent daughters. Shashi Ranjan Mishra, a
medical representative, lives there. His family includes his wife, Reshma,
11-year-old twin daughters, Riddhi and Siddhi, and six-year-old son, Gannu.
Both daughters were fifth-grade students at the nearby Mother Teresa School,
while his son studied in UKG.
The incident came to light when the wife informed the police. Upon arriving,
police found blood splattered throughout the room and the bodies of the two
girls lying there. The accused father was found sitting nearby and was
immediately taken into custody. Police also recovered the sharp weapon used in the
murder from the scene. The forensic team, which arrived upon receiving
information about the incident, also collected evidence and preserved important
samples for investigation.
A preliminary investigation has revealed a family dispute. The accused's wife
said she was from Siliguri and worked at a men's parlor, where she met Shashi
Ranjan. The two had a love marriage in 2014.
According to the wife, her husband frequently assaulted her under the
influence of alcohol and was suspicious of her. He even installed CCTV cameras
in the house. He often insisted that she leave with her son and that he would
keep the daughters with him. It was reported that on Saturday night, they all
had dinner together and then went to sleep. The wife was in a separate room with
her son, while the accused was sleeping in another room with his two daughters.
When she woke up in the morning, she found both girls murdered and the accused
present in the room.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Dipendra Nath Chaudhary, said the accused
had killed his two daughters. He has been taken into custody and is being
questioned, and the case is being investigated from all angles.
