
Lucknow, April 19 (HS): The body of a young man was recovered from the Gomti
River in the Thakurganj police station area of Lucknow on Sunday. Police have
identified the deceased and begun further investigation.

Omveer Singh Chauhan said that on Saturday, Adil, a resident of Hussainganj,
went to the Gomti River with his friends to take a bath. While bathing, he
drowned in deep water, while the others who accompanied him returned safely.
Upon receiving the information, local police and relief teams immediately
arrived at the scene and launched a search and rescue operation. After
considerable effort, the young man's body was recovered from the Gomti River on
Sunday. The police completed a Panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigation suggests the incident was an accidental drowning. The
family has been informed of the incident. He said that Lucknow Police appeals
to the public to exercise caution when bathing in rivers and reservoirs and to
avoid wading in deep water.
