Nari Shakti Vandan Padyatra and
conference organised in city's West Assembly
Prayagraj, April 16 (HS): In support of the Nari
Shakti Vandan Act, a Nari Shakti Vandan Padyatra was taken out in the City West
Assembly and a Nari Shakti Sammelan was organised. The Padyatra which started
from Thakurdwara Sulem Sarai concluded at Hanuman Vatika. During the Padyatra,
women supported the Nari Shakti Vandan Act through slogans like Thank you
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Empowered Women, Empowered
India.
Addressing the Nari Shakti Vandan
Sammelan organised at Hanuman Vatika after the Padyatra as the chief guest,
City West MLA Siddharth Nath Singh said that after a long wait of 76 years,
half the population is getting its rights. The historic Nari Shakti Vandan Act
of the Modi government is paving the way for the dignified presence of women in
the temple of democracy. 33% participation in the Lok Sabha and Legislative
Assemblies is a revolution of change whose echoes will resonate for
generations. Half the population will now ensure participation not just in
numbers but also in policymaking. When women get the opportunity, they don't
hold back; they make history. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar also said that there must be
equality. Opposition parties continued to block this bill. However, thanks to
the willpower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this Act is now becoming a
reality. The mother power achieves whatever it sets its mind to. The first
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was also a woman. Many women sacrificed their
lives in the freedom struggle. Women have played a vital role in building a new
India. When women are empowered, the nation is empowered.
Prior to this, guests on stage were
welcomed with bouquets and robes. Former Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi was the
