New Delhi, 16 April (H.S.):

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu reviewed Delhi Fire Service operations and the summer action plan Thursday, prioritizing modernization, infrastructure upgrades, and personnel training to strengthen emergency response systems.

On X, Sandhu emphasized broad consultations with residents, businesses, and traders while examining proposed amendments to Delhi Fire Service Rules, 2010, ensuring an inclusive, practical, and effective framework. Aligning with PM Narendra Modi's vision, he stressed regulations promoting 'ease of living' and 'ease of doing business'—robust fire safety without undue citizen burdens.

Sandhu scrutinized the department's summer strategy amid rising temperatures, ordering strict monitoring and a comprehensive awareness campaign educating citizens on preventive measures, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.

During Fire Service Week, he joined flag-hoisting with DFS officers, saluting their heroism: Risking lives to save others defines true bravery. Reiterating the motto We serve to save, he highlighted collective fire safety responsibility, urging collaborative efforts for a safer Delhi and tribute to silent heroes.
