
Guwahati, 16 April (HS): Office-bearers of the Assam Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a discussion with a Japanese delegation at the party’s state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, on Thursday, focusing on various aspects of India-Japan relations.
The meeting was attended by First Secretary of the Japan Consulate, Mayumi Stabakimoto, and Senior Assistant from the political department, Krishna Manish Choudhury. According to a statement issued by Assam BJP spokesperson Pranjal Kalita, the interaction covered a wide range of topics including Assam’s potential from Japan’s perspective, investment and business opportunities, women empowerment, youth development, the party’s ideology, and welfare initiatives undertaken by the Assam government.
The discussion highlighted the scope for deeper engagement and collaboration between Assam and Japan in key sectors. Party representatives also shared insights into ongoing developmental initiatives and policy priorities in the state.
Among those present at the programme were Assam BJP vice-president Ratna Singh, state media department convener Rupam Goswami, along with other spokespersons, media panelists, and co-conveners of the party’s media wing.-----------
