Kolkata, 09 March (H.S.): West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya on Sunday said that women in the state will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power in West Bengal.

Addressing a public meeting in North 24 Parganas during the party’s Parivartan Yatra, Bhattacharya claimed that an atmosphere of change has already emerged in the state and asserted that the ruling All India Trinamool Congress will be voted out in the upcoming elections.

He said that those who support “loot and corruption” should vote for the Trinamool Congress, while those who want development and good governance should support the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bhattacharya alleged that corruption, political interference and the absence of investment-friendly policies under the current state government have harmed West Bengal’s industrial potential.

The BJP leader also alleged large-scale irregularities in voter lists. He said several instances have surfaced showing serious discrepancies in the electoral rolls, raising concerns over their credibility.

Bhattacharya further announced that if the BJP forms the government in the state, the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations will be implemented within 45 days, fulfilling a long-pending demand of government employees.

He also alleged that several areas in the state have become centres of crime and claimed that the law-and-order situation has deteriorated under the present administration. The BJP, he said, will ensure security and good governance once it comes to power.

Bhattacharya further accused the state government of attempting to include illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in the voter list, claiming that the upcoming election will determine the future direction of the state’s politics.

He also said that the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently increased the minimum support price for jute farmers. According to him, the BJP aims to introduce policies in West Bengal that will benefit farmers, workers and industries.

Other BJP leaders also addressed meetings in different districts during the Parivartan Yatra, claiming that the campaign is receiving widespread public support across the state. They said the initiative aims to ensure development, security and good governance in West Bengal.
