
Kushinagar,
09 March (HS): A 28-year-old man was detained in Kushinagar district on Monday
after reportedly impersonating an Indian Foreign Service officer, according to
police officials. After getting information about a guy acting as an IFS official,
the Kushinagar Superintendent of Police initiated action and dispatched teams
to apprehend the offender. On March
8, police apprehended Pawan Chauhan, a resident of the Hata region, and seized
his identification card, two false Aadhaar cards, an election card, five ATM
cards, three seals, an inkpad, a notebook, two mobile phones, and two protocol
papers.
A case was
filed against the accused in this regard, and he was imprisoned on Monday.
Additional
Superintendent of Police Siddharth Verma stated that the accused, Pawan
Chauhan, admitted to falsifying papers and illegally getting unjust advantages
from several government departments.
Posing as
an IFS official, he created fabricated procedures based on a forged
identification card and forwarded them to several government departments via
email to legitimize his scam.
He uses
this media to deceive young people from rural regions by offering them
employment, promotions, or other government perks. The false Aadhar cards,
voter cards, ATM cards, seals, ink pads, and other materials seized from him
are being utilized for similar fraud and forgery, according to the Additional
SP.
