Lucknow, 08

March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Sunday

that the state government is aiming to make females self-sufficient and will

offer them with a complete package of financial help from birth to graduation

to support their education. Addressing a ceremony commemorating International

Women's Day, the chief minister introduced the Rozgar Sangam portal's mobile

application, handed appointment letters to newly chosen sevikas, and attended

the Pink Rozgar Mahakumbh 2026. Daughters will no longer be reliant on others.

He stated that the government will give a package to assist students' education

from birth to graduation. Adityanath stated that financial help will begin

immediately after a girl child's birth, after her name is entered in the

official birth registration system.

He stated

that after the girl's birth is recorded, the sum designated for the child's

birth would be transferred immediately to her bank account. The chief minister

stated that the government will also offer funding to guarantee that the female

kid received the necessary vaccines. He stated that financial help will

continue at various stages of study. After registering for Class 1, a girl's

bank account will be credited with the amount paid. Similarly, when she

completes level 5 and enrolls in the following level, she will receive

financial assistance again. He stated that this procedure will continue till

she graduates from high school or intermediate and moves on to higher study or

other activities.

Adityanath

stated that a total of Rs 25,000 is being supplied under various categories,

with around 2.7 million females now benefiting from the plan. He also

emphasized the state government's mass marriage project for economically

disadvantaged families, stating that parents need not be concerned about the

expense of their daughter's wedding because the government will pay Rs 1 lakh

for qualified recipients' marriages. So far, about four lakh girls have been

married via this arrangement, he stated. The chief minister mentioned the

impending Laxmibai Scooty Scheme, which would provide scooters to girls. Meritorious

female students would receive scooters in the first phase, with the initiative

expanding to other students in the second phase, he added.

He stated

that the administration has been following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's

notion of the Five Ts — Tradition, Technology, Transparency, Trust,

and Transformation. The chief minister emphasized the necessity of women's

engagement in nation-building, saying that no community can become self-reliant

or self-sufficient if half of its population is excluded. Referring to central

government efforts such as the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, he stated

that numerous programmes have been introduced to increase women's empowerment.

He also expressed optimism that in the next years, women will hold around 35%

of seats in Parliament and state assemblies. Previously, women's involvement in

the labour force was approximately 13%, but it has since climbed to 36-37%, he

added.

He stated

that before he became chief minister in 2017, the state's law and order had

worsened, making both girls and traders feel frightened.Curfews and riots had

become Uttar Pradesh's identity. There was disorder and migration. In several

places, parents were hesitant to send their daughters to school and instead

sent them to hostels or relatives outside the state to study, he added. The

chief minister stated that individuals who mistreat women would face severe

consequences. If any miscreant harasses a daughter or sister, 'Yamraj' is

waiting at the next crossroads to issue his ticket, he stated, claiming that

women's protection secures the safety of society as a whole.

Adityanath

also revealed that the state government has chosen to construct digital

entrepreneurship centres in each Nyaya Panchayat as part of a new initiative

introduced in the most recent budget. He stated that more than 4,000 women will

be connected to the campaign. Adityanath went on to say that the government has

begun to create working women's dormitories for those who labor in cities far

from their homes. Similar dormitories are now being built in Varanasi, Meerut,

Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Jhansi, and Agra. He stated that comparable dorms

will be erected at Ayodhya, Bareilly, Aligarh, Mirzapur, Saharanpur, and

Moradabad, with funds allocated in the state budget. More than 5,000 women were

offered jobs by partnering organizations at the Pink Rozgar Mahakumbh 2026, an

event intended at increasing employment opportunities and empowering women

across the state.

The chief

minister also unveiled the mobile application for the Rozgar Sangam site, a

platform that connects job seekers with job prospects. At the ceremony, he

handed out employment letters to 94 newly hired Mukhya Sevikas and presented

the Nari Shakti Awards to exceptional female employees and deserving girl

students. He also distributed cheques to Kanya Sumangala Yojana recipients and

witnessed a direct benefit transfer of Rs 3,849 lakh for insurance premiums,

sarees, and uniforms for anganwadi workers.
