Devendra Fadnavis, on Friday, presented the budget for the state for 2026-2027.

Fadnavis held the portfolio of Finance Ministry following death of Deputy Chief

Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar.

Fadnavis

announced a loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh for farmers eligible for farm loan up

to September 30, 2025. Those who have repaid the loan will get Rs 50,000 as an

encouragement. Thousands of farmers will benefit with the major announcement in

the budget. Fadnavis stated that Rs 15,492 crore have been disbursed among the

farmers between June and October 2025 because of lossess suffered due to heavy

rains and floods during the last monsoon.

Fadnavis

announced than an integrated ecosystem for 10 to 15 crops and for working out

proper prices for them will be worked out with the cooperation with Agristake,

Mahavedh, Cropsap, MahaBT, Coop Stack etc and form a digital platform using

Artificial Intelligence for providing information to farmers.

Artifical

Intelligence Innovation and Incubation Centre will be established in the four

Agricultural Universities in Maharashtra. The plan is to improve the

agriculture produce by about 25 per cent. Fadnavis also announced plans to

improve agro-based occupations and animal husbandry.

The free power

supply to agriculture pumps will be continued and women will be encouraged to

undertake programmes like poultry and sheep and cow raring during the

International Women Farmers Year. The solar energy transmission lines will be

laid to generate 16,000 MW power and connect all the farmers. Presently 3349 NW

solar power is being generated.

Maharashtra has

planned supply of 55 litres of water per head per day in rural area and 135

litres per head per day in urban areas. The plan is based on the needs till

2047. Through the Water Resources Department linking rivers to take care of

drought situation and flooding together. Possibility of impact of Al-Nino in

2026 is also under consideration and steps to maintain water resources have

been taken.
