Noida, 28 March

(HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that the

newly inaugurated Noida International Airport in Jewar will serve as a

springboard for the state's economic development, encouraging investment,

commerce, and employment while giving Uttar Pradesh a new worldwide identity. Adityanath

addressed a public gathering during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's opening

event, congratulating him for pushing the state's aviation sector to new

heights with the project. He stated that, despite global volatility and rising fuel

costs in many countries, India has been able to maintain steady petroleum

prices and consistent supply over the last decade thanks to the Prime

Minister's visionary leadership. Adityanath noted that the airport is part of a

larger strategy to convert India into a developed nation, pointing out that

such infrastructure projects are generating growth in a variety of industries.

This new

airport would solidify Uttar Pradesh's position on the world aviation map and

mark a new era of growth, he added. Highlighting future growth plans, he stated

that the airport is now operating with one runway and will shortly add a

second, with the goal of eventually having up to five runways and establishing

itself as a major worldwide aviation center.

Taking a

shot at previous Congress and Samajwadi Party regimes, he said that Uttar

Pradesh had long suffered from policy stagnation and misgovernance, but has

emerged as a breakthrough state under double-engine governance in recent years.

The chief minister stated that Modi lay the foundation stone for the airport on

November 25, 2021, and that the opening of its first phase in a few years

demonstrates the pace of development.

When

resolve is strong and confidence is steadfast, no objective is impossible.

Jewar airport is the product of that determination becoming a reality, he

explained. He stated that the airport's runway would not only benefit the

state's economy, but would also serve as a doorway to a brighter future,

speeding investment and providing large-scale job possibilities.

Adityanath

emphasized the airport's strategic connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway and

its integration with major upcoming infrastructure projects such as the

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Ganga Expressway,

Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and the proposed Delhi-Varanasi

high-speed rail corridor. He stated that the initiative will directly and

indirectly employ lakhs of young people while also drawing investment in

industries like as manufacturing and logistics.

Referring

to recent advances, the chief minister stated that groundwork has already begun

for a semiconductor manufacturing unit near the airport, as well as plans for

other industry clusters such as garment parks, medical device parks, toy parks,

MSME parks, and handicraft hubs. He stated that data center units are also

being established, and preparations for a fintech city are ongoing, resulting

in a favorable atmosphere for investors throughout the National Capital Region.

Adityanath further stated that the airport is being constructed as a seamless,

smart, and sustainable aviation center, complete with cargo hubs, aviation fuel

farms, in-flight meals, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. He

stated that developing a specialized multi-modal cargo hub will assist Uttar

Pradesh overcome its landlocked status and boost access to global markets.

The chief

minister remarked that the airport and the ecology that surrounds it will help

Uttar Pradesh's innate potential reach new heights. Adityanath also appreciated

the farmers in the Jewar district for their contributions to the initiative. He

stated that, while there were initial complaints throughout the land purchase

process, ongoing communication and prompt compensation and rehabilitation

helped get farmers on side. As a consequence, local farmers helped make around

13,000 acres of land accessible for the Noida International Airport. I am

grateful to them for their constructive participation and for collaborating

with public representatives to advance this development effort, he added.
