Bhubaneswar, 28 March (H.S.): The Plus II examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha concluded on Saturday, with the results likely to be announced by May 12, officials said.

According to CHSE authorities, a total of 4,01,623 students had registered for the examinations this year across the Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams. Out of them, 3,96,592 candidates appeared for the exams, while around 5,031 students remained absent, informed the CHSE Controller of Examinations.

The evaluation of answer scripts will commence on April 2 and will be carried out in two phases—from April 2 to April 13 and April 15 to April 28—through both offline and online modes.

Nearly 16,000 teachers will be engaged in the evaluation process, with 8,000 teachers assigned to each phase. To facilitate the assessment work, the board has set up 151 evaluation centres across the state, where approximately 25 lakh answer scripts will be examined.

CHSE officials said strict security arrangements will be in place at all evaluation centres. In view of the prevailing heat conditions, drinking water and other essential facilities will also be provided for teachers involved in the evaluation.

A senior CHSE official stated that the board aims to complete the evaluation process by the end of April and declare the results within 40 to 45 days.
