Prayagraj/Lucknow,

24 March (HS): State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational

Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, while

inaugurating the three-day 'Sankalp 2026' National Summit organized at Motilal

Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Prayagraj, called upon the

youth to contribute in building a self-reliant India by adopting skill-based

education.

In his

address, Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal said that coordination between the

government, educational institutions, industry, and new ventures is crucial in

today's times. Only through this coordinated effort can the goal of making the

country self-reliant be realized. He added that simply obtaining a degree is

not enough; only skill-based education prepares youth for employment and

entrepreneurship. He encouraged the youth to move towards innovation by

advising them to acquire skills in modern technologies like artificial

intelligence, drones, three-dimensional printing and design.

Speaking

on the occasion, R.S. Verma (Director, MNNIT) stated that the conference,

themed Nurturing Skills and Knowledge for Self-Reliant Leadership and

Prosperity, will feature over 50 expert speakers from across the country.

Over 700 participants and 40 finalist teams will present their innovative ideas

at the conference.

Representatives

from various institutions and industries, including Shivkumar Sharma, Mukul S.

Sutawane, and Sushil Kumar, attended the event. The event also received support

from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), the Indian

Institute of Information Technology Prayagraj, and the University of Allahabad.

Sankalp

2026 is divided into five key sections—Sankalp Nayi Soch, Sankalp Varta,

Sankalp Samvaad, Sankalp Innovation, and Sankalp Srijan. Over 50 startups will

present their ideas to investors, while youth will be provided opportunities

for innovation and skill development through workshops, roundtable discussions,

and a science exhibition.
