
Lucknow, 17 March (HS): Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, periodically
pays respect to the late Manohar Parrikar, the former Defence Minister and
Chief Minister of Goa, on his death (March 17) and birth (December 13)
anniversary. Yogi has praised Parrikar's simplicity, sincerity, and commitment
to the nation, frequently highlighting his legacy as an inspiration. On March
17, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pays tribute to the late leader, emphasizing
his people-first leadership style. Parrikar, a former IITian, is
regarded by UP leadership as a visionary who reinvented honest administration.
Manohar Parrikar was born on December 13, 1955, and is often commemorated by
prominent BJP officials on this day.
Yogi
Adityanath paid tribute to Manohar Parrikar on his birth and death anniversaries,
describing him as a true patriot whose political career was exemplary of
transparency. In March 2017, both Yogi Adityanath and Manohar Parrikar were
transitioning from Members of Parliament to Chief Ministers of their respective
states (UP and Goa), with both deferring their resignations from the Lok Sabha
until after the presidential elections.
Both leaders have been emphasized for their emphasis on administrative
openness as well as their BJP background. Parrikar is well recognized across
the political spectrum for his service as Defence Minister, as Adityanath
emphasized when expressing sadness over his death in 2019.
