Prayagraj,
17 March (HS): A powerful awareness session on “Organ Donation in India &
Armed Forces Medical Services” was conducted by Military Hospital, Prayagraj.
The highly interactive session was delivered by Col (Dr) Sudeep Prakash, Senior
Advisor (Medicine) and Nephrologist, Command Hospital (CC).
The
session highlighted the critical gap between organ demand and availability in
India, dispelled common myths, and emphasized the importance of deceased organ
donation. Dr Prakash urged citizens to move beyond awareness to meaningful
action, describing organ donation as a social responsibility capable of saving
multiple lives. Reinforcing this message, he stated, “Don’t take your organs to
heaven — heaven knows we need them here.” The event inspired attendees to
pledge for organ donation and actively contribute towards saving lives,
