17 March (HS): To commemorate the 37th death anniversary of Hemwati Nandan
Bahuguna at Civil Lines, Chief Guest High Court Justice Gautam Chaudhary and
Smriti's National Secretary, Shekhar Bahuguna, paid tributes by placing floral
wreaths at the statue of the late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, a renowned freedom
fighter, former Union Minister, and former Chief Minister of UP.
On this
occasion, Chaudhary stated that late Bahuguna constantly strove to build
society and the country. Today, leaders such as Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna are
required to propel society forward. Only then can our civilization go forward.
His younger son, Shekhar Bahuguna, stated that HN Bahuguna constantly battled
for the interests of the country's impoverished laborers, farmers, and
downtrodden, securing their justice. He fought tirelessly to protect the
nation's unity, honesty, and goodwill, setting a wonderful example for us. Son
Shekhar Bahuguna and granddaughter Uttara Bahuguna lit a lamp and offered their
respects. Thereafter, an all-religion recitation was conducted in the memory of
Bahuguna ji in which Geeta was recited by Mani Shankar Dwivedi, words from Guru
Granth Sahib by Nanak Singh, Quran by Mohd Shaban, Bible by Galvin priest.
Hundreds
of officials and workers of various parties, organizations and institutions
attended and paid tribute to their great public leader. The program was
conducted by Sant Prasad Pandey, President of the Memorial Committee. On this
