Bhubaneswar, 17 March (H.S.): Newly elected Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Dilip Ray visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Tuesday to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath following his victory in the Rajya Sabha elections.

Speaking to mediapersons after his visit, Ray expressed gratitude to the sibling deities for blessing him with the strength, patience, and courage to serve the people of Odisha. He said the visit was a gesture of thanksgiving after successfully securing a seat in the Upper House of Parliament.

Ray stated that he had been confident about his chances of winning the election and had begun preparations nearly two months in advance, which eventually contributed to the positive outcome.

He also extended his appreciation to the MLAs who supported him, including those who cross-voted during the election. Ray attributed his victory to strong personal relationships as well as the goodwill and support he received from several legislators.

The newly elected MP reaffirmed his commitment to working for the welfare and development of the people of Odisha.
