Bhubaneswar, 17 March (H.S.): Thousands of devotees gathered at the Dashashwamedh Ghat on Tuesday to observe the auspicious Baruni Snana, one of the most significant religious rituals in the region.
The sacred event, held on the banks of the Baitarani River, witnessed participation from pilgrims arriving from various parts of Odisha as well as neighbouring areas. Devotees took a holy dip in the river, believing it to cleanse sins and bring spiritual merit.
Baruni Snana is traditionally observed during the Hindu month of Chaitra under the Shatabhisha Nakshatra, making it an important occasion for ritual bathing and religious observances.
Authorities had put in place necessary arrangements to manage the large influx of pilgrims and ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
