
Security beefed
up, search operation initiated
Mumbai, 12 Mar
(HS): A threat to blow up four important places including Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai
was received on Thursday morning at 6.57 am. The threat rattled entire security
agencies as the budget session of the State Legislature is in progress. Besides
the Vidhan Bhavan threat to blow up was received for the Mumbai Stock Exchange,
Mumbai Metro and Bombay High Court.
Following the
threat the security agencies were alerted, Chairman of Legislative Council Prof
Ram Shinde said.
Intense search
operations were started, and employees and others in the premises were removed
from the Vidhan Bhavan as a preventive security measure. Entry into the
premises was also stopped. The security agencies deployed the sniffer dog squad.
Later Minister
of State for Home Affairs Pankaj Bhoyar informed the media that the threat was
fake and no reason to panic.
Search
operations at other places was also initiated. Police are searching for the source
of email.
The regular proceedings of the State Legislature will star at 11 am.
