Bhubaneswar, 12 March (H.S.): The proceedings of the Odisha Legislative Assembly were disrupted on Thursday as Congress MLAs created a ruckus over the alleged shortage of cooking gas. Due to the uproar, the Question Hour could not be conducted smoothly.

Soon after the House assembled at its scheduled time of 10:30 AM, Speaker Surama Padhy attempted to begin the Question Hour. In the absence of Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling began responding to the questions.

However, Congress legislators started raising slogans, alleging that people across the state are facing severe difficulties due to the shortage of cooking gas. Holding placards, they moved to the well of the House and continued their protest.

Speaker Surama Padhy repeatedly urged the protesting members to cooperate and allow the House to function smoothly. Despite her appeals, the Congress MLAs continued their slogan-shouting.

Amid the persistent disruption, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the House till 11:30 AM.
