Lucknow, 12

March (HS): On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid

respect to Mahatma Gandhi and other Satyagrahis in commemoration of the

historic Dandi March. He saw the 1930 campaign as a strong symbol of truth and

nonviolence against British control, inspiring the country's quest for

independence. Yogi claimed that it implanted in the people a new Swaraj

mantra. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

paid honor to Mahatma Gandhi's historic Dandi March, which began in Sabarmati

Ashram in 1930. He said that the Dandi March demonstrated that truth, courage,

and collective determination can even topple empires. On this day, UP Deputy

Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and other leaders recognized the Dandi

Satyagrahis' sacrifices and fortitude.

In a post

on X, UP CM mentioned, “Millions of salutes to revered Bapu and all the

Satyagrahis of the immortal struggle. The Dandi Salt Satyagraha, which began on

this day in 1930 from the Sabarmati Ashram under the leadership of the

Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, ignited the flame of the

Indian freedom struggle, instilling in every citizen self-confidence and a new

mantra of self-rule. This unprecedented Dandi March, which shook the roots of

barbaric and undemocratic British rule, proved that even empires can be toppled

by truth, courage, and collective resolve. Bharat Mata ki Jai!”
