March (HS): On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid
respect to Mahatma Gandhi and other Satyagrahis in commemoration of the
historic Dandi March. He saw the 1930 campaign as a strong symbol of truth and
nonviolence against British control, inspiring the country's quest for
independence. Yogi claimed that it implanted in the people a new Swaraj
mantra. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
paid honor to Mahatma Gandhi's historic Dandi March, which began in Sabarmati
Ashram in 1930. He said that the Dandi March demonstrated that truth, courage,
and collective determination can even topple empires. On this day, UP Deputy
Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and other leaders recognized the Dandi
Satyagrahis' sacrifices and fortitude.
In a post
on X, UP CM mentioned, “Millions of salutes to revered Bapu and all the
Satyagrahis of the immortal struggle. The Dandi Salt Satyagraha, which began on
this day in 1930 from the Sabarmati Ashram under the leadership of the
Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, ignited the flame of the
Indian freedom struggle, instilling in every citizen self-confidence and a new
mantra of self-rule. This unprecedented Dandi March, which shook the roots of
barbaric and undemocratic British rule, proved that even empires can be toppled
by truth, courage, and collective resolve. Bharat Mata ki Jai!”
