
Nagpur, 24 Feb (HS): Unseasonal rains and hail storm
caused heavy losses to crops in Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra.
The Rabbi season crops like wheat, jowar, Bengal gram, etc, which were ready
for harvest, have been damaged. The inflorescence in mango orchards in Beed,
Latur and other districts was harmed by the rains and hail storm.
Unseasonal rains and gusty winds for the last three
days hit the hopes of farmers, who suffered losses during the monsoon season.
Nagpur and Bhandara districts in the Vidarbha region
and Beed and Latur districts in Marathwada were badly affected due to the
unseasonal rains.
Farmers in onion growing regions in Maharashtra also
suffered losses due to unseasonal rains.
